Merry Christmas Eve Morning!

I’m drinking hot cocoa and burning my esophagus with this deliciously hot beverage.  I have all My shopping done. Hooray!  Now on to wrapping presents!  Where is the wrapping paper?………… Oh yeah still in the store!  After work I get to have some fun running out and buying the stuff.  Tape too!  Syd and Ruca are getting their Greenies tomorrow.  I had them tucked into my pockets last night.  Sydney being a super sleuth  was all up on me, like I know you gotz my Greenie!  I had a fit of giggles while he sniffed me down.   He had his eagle eyes on my every move, so Chris caused a distraction, while I hid the treats.  We can’t wait for tomorrow.

Chris has his annual Christmas breakfast with his family.  I’ll be working until 3, and by myself until 1pm. That means I get tv control.  Sweet.  I’m watching A Christmas Story the entire time.  I really really really love that movie. I wished they played it Christmas Eve. Then I’d get 48 hours of it!  One can dream.  I’m going to waste sometime on Hulu watching Christmas Classics right now.  TTFN!

Merry Merry.

After The Blizzard

The Nor’Easter that was due to hit Cape Cod on Sunday, hit  Saturday night.  Lucky for me I checked the online weather or I would have been going with the flow, not getting anything ready.  Maybe I’m finally maturing into an adult.   Awesome!

The storm started around 9pm-ish.  The pups already had their night walk, and I was tucked into bed.  Sunday morning  I went to let Ruca out, and she goes to exit the door then backs her little butt  into the house.  ha-ha I can imagine her thoughts, “What happened outside?”  Its her second winter, but I don’t think she remembered it She was born in the month of december. we had snow when we first got her in February, but she was only 9 weeks old at the time. Too early for puppy memories I guess.  She would not go outside alone, so I leashed up Sydney and all three of us went out.  Sydney loves the snow.  Jumping and eating it.  After those first few moments Ruca fell in love too. Charging around and jumping to her heart’s content.  Sydney all but disappeared.  Now with the Snow up to 2 feet Sydney completely disappears.  Needless to say he loves that too.

Snow removal was pretty quick.  Not the towns plowing, but my personal shoveling. I got the front and around the truck done in about an hour.  Again Lucky for me, Chris was coming home Sunday instead of Monday,  so he helped shovel when he got back.  He also drove  Monday morning.  I love him!  It looks so beautiful out.  Even 3 days later.  Growing up in Boston, you only get to enjoy the snow in that first day. If it’s a big snow storm maybe 2 days. With all the traffic and sand mixed in city snow tend to turn black rather quickly, or gray.   I’m glad we get a snowy Christmas.

Happy Holidays!

Graduation Party

This post was from 12/06/09. It was saved to draft all this time. oops!

My cousin Keith has graduated high school.  I can’t believe how fast life passes.  Its seems like yesterday His sisters and I were little kids playing all over their house in Hyde Park.  Now we’re all in our twenties & one of his sisters has a little girl of her own.  Life zipped us right along. lol.

His party starts in a few mins and I can’t wait to see everyone.  I’m so happy, we’re all getting extra family time before the holidays.  My Sister returned today with her man, who is now a Marine. Their reception is next Sunday. Talk about life flying by, my little sis is getting married this week.  2009 should just be called the year of the weddings.  I  think I’ve been to about five & there are two more to go to in 2010. I’m sure there will be more!

I’ve also finished one more dish towel. It looks great. The color pattern is like a rustic 1800’s america.  Thats what I see when I  look at it. I have to get going on the road.

Congratulations Keith!

:)

After I got out of work I popped into Trader Joe’s to grab some….you guessed it! dinner! Boy was it packed there.  I’m guessing because of the holidays.  I felt like I had to rush through the store. If I hovered for to long I could feel them breathing down my neck. ha-ha like health Food Zombies.  I think I broke a time record for food store shopping. I clocked in at just 20 mins.  Trader Joes has the best bran muffins.  They aren’t that fluffy on top, their height comes just to the top of the muffin wrapper.  The Cranberry & Pomegranate ones are my fav.  They are FULL FLAVORED.  They pack a punch to the taste buds.

Whenever I go food shopping I seem to forget about Trader Joes.  Shaws and Stop n Shop are programmed into my obtaining food process, since I was able to remember where we got our food.  Trader Joe’s is some much better. I don’t eat meat so I can’t honestly say they have good meat.  Their bread rocks though! Yum!  I’m making myself so hungry right now. I can’t wait for lunchtime .

I also love that they call their tortilla chips Trader Jose’s tortilla chips. It’s so cute.

A snowy nor’easter

It seems just my luck that the first snow to land on cape cod this winter, would be while my darling is away. The storm is due to hit Sunday. I’m nervous about driving  to work on Monday. I have a 10-15 minute drive to the highway, 6 highway exits to go, and then(lol) I have a 10 to 15 min drive to my job.  It takes about 45 minutes to drive on a good day.  On a snowy day?  I’m so not looking forward to that!  I’m scheduled to work at 7am every Mon-Fri, I don’t know when to leave the house. 5am? That means I’m up at 4am! the poor pups will be like “what? this isn’t walk time?”…..”??”

The last time I drove in the snow, I managed to get my car stuck and had to pay 100.00 for a tow.  I had to walk to the police station to call the tow company, and I had wait there for them too. It was the only place open.  I’ve been scarred from driving in the snow since that day.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s not going to be that bad on the roads, and I’ll make sure I go to bed extra early Sunday night.  Who knows what time I need to leave the warmth of my house. (not too early please!)

Wish me luck :)

about the bonfires

I know I havent written a single post about them lol.  My only defense is its cold here in the northeast. buurr cold. In the Summer we have them often. So it will be a more relevant title then. Sit tight :) .  Cape Cod is a great place to live life on the beach.

Oh Me, Oh My

I am so excited that Hulu has A Charlie Brown Christmas on their website.  Its one of those movies I love, but always forget to buy.  I wish I kept lists for myself. Lists that I remember.   I write everything on the calendar, and I don’t carry that around. I think I have three, all are up in different rooms.  I get them as gifts, and I wonder if people are trying to say something about me, or if “life the universe and everything” are sending them my way.  I’ll go with the latter.  Who wouldn’t like mulitple calenders brought to you by the universe?   I know I love mine.

Married!

My Little Sis was married on Friday. Yay! I wasn’t able to attend and it broke my heart.  My bosses were away and no one was able to cover for me.  I felt so bad, but there wasn’t anything I could d. They’re going to have a marriage renewal ceremony as soon as he is an officer. I’ll be there and I can’t wait.  I went to the reception party the day after and it was so much fun. Apart from the moment my cousins husband grabbed my butt during my speech. Yuck. It was so rude & it made me feel sick. It looks like I wont be going to their Christmas Eve Party. I couldn’t believe it.  I didn’t tell Chris about it until everyone left, I knew he would have said something and that wouldn’t have been good. I should mention this is an older cousin of mine as in her and her husband are in their 50’s. ick.

Change of subject.  I think I lost most of my christmas ornaments when I moved.  I just have 12 glass bulbs. ha I can’t decorate a whole tree with just that! I’m not sure we’re going to have a tree this year. I think we’ll just throw up some lights & stockings.  I’m going to crochet a few stockings this christmas.  Chris is going up north next weekend for some skiing.  It’s a bachelor party event for his friend.  When he comes back he has to start his christmas shopping.  I have this ulcer causing feeling that his family is going to get upset about their gifts this holiday. Honestly with so many weddings in a 6 month period and we’re been in three of them?, they have to understand we’re broke. I wish christmas was more about family, and less about what I got you.

I had to skip his friend’s bride’s wedding shower(mouthful!) did i mention Chris is in the wedding? We found out that she wants everyone to wear a 1,000 tux. ha! In her dreams.  Chris would have declined to be in the wedding because we can’t afford it, but they wont let him. We’re planning on leaving the wedding after two hours. They’re getting married on New Years Eve and its starting at 8pm. I guess we wouldn’t mind so much if we liked her. We dont though, so its affecting everything.  I hope they serve good food. I’m sure to be hungry at 9pm lol

rain rain and its snow

Great day to work on the coast……nawht!  Driving into work today, was trying to say the least.  On the road from our house it was snowing, but as Chris and I drove further down the Cape it became rain.  Turning from snow to rain was not helpful.  It may have made the drive even more stressful.  The thing I dislike about driving in the rain, is the horrible misty action you get from the person driving in front of you. It can’t be avoided unless you have a clear roadway ahead.  It also doesn’t help that the only highway on the Cape is ancient, and the town really needs to invest some money into drainage from exit 2 to exit 6.  People don’t go around saying  “ I survived the Rte 6 river” for nothing.

The wind is so bad right now, that the doors in the lobby will not remain shut unless we lock them.  We can’t do that. How will the guests get in?  The Heat is cranked so we don’t freeze to death from this blowing freezing hell storm outside.  I think Snow would be better.  It would be prettier at least. My tea is cold & I’m so tired, but my boss just informed me that it is still snowing where I live.  It’s only rain close to the coast.  I honestly can’t wait to go home for some fun shoveling.

On a brighter note I think Chris and I will be picking up our tree this weekend. I don’t know how many ornaments we have left after I flooded our basement filling the washer.  As long as the lights work we’ll be happy.  :) SEE!

Maybe some Holiday music will burst the cheer out of me

Sunday

We arrived at the grad party a little late, but everyone was still there, so yay!

My sister didnt attend as her and her man needed some alone time.  Everyone else was there having a great time. Now don’t get me wrong I love my sister but she can be a little (lot) judgemental, so it worked out that she wasn’t there.  A cousin of ours, who my sister has not spoken to in a very long time, was there, so it did indeed work out to keep the drama to zero. My sister has had some problems with her that started when they were around 12, but they haven’t spoken for sometime and one of them is 20 and the other is 19.  Things were fine between the cousin and I, because I know people do change. Things happen to cause people to grow up. My sister does not accept this, though I hope she does eventually.

Well I might have invited her and her boyfriend to my sister’s wedding party this Saturday. I hope it goes well(please!) and they talk and put the things that need to be behind them behind them. I hope my sister is open to it.

Change of subject! yay! Even though I’m 25 and soon to be 26, my mom still buys me gifts for birthdays and the holidays.  She is getting me an iPod for Christmas!  I told her if she gets it for me it has to be the only thing she can get me. I don’t want her to spend a ton of money this year.

I’m excited to see the family Saturday. It’ll bring the total get togethers for this month to three.  Some of us wont be at Christmas Eve, so Saturday will also be a mini Christmas for us. The older I get the more important family is to me. I mean the older I get I realize just how important my family is to me.  I get super excited to see them, and do a little yay dance, and they acknowledge they have a lame-o for a cousin lol.

Lets Hear It For The Holidays!
