Are you gonna crochet my way

Like Lenny Kravitz….only with me crocheting…..get it?…Well then let’s get to it!  Before I moved into a my new place(I love it) I started an afghan. Its  6 blocks a row and there are 6 rows to it. I’ve used most of my yarn to make it and I’ve just got one square left to crochet!  i can’t wait to start piecing it together.  Emmm yay!  It such a great feeling seeing what you can make out of yarn with a crochet needle.  After I have it finished, I plan on posting a picture, but as you know from reading my past posts my crochet photos never turn out quite right. you know what they say,  1000th time is a charm!   The whole thing is one stitch…the half double crochet. My sister bought me some knitting needle for christmas and I havent used them yet so I think the perfect time would be right after I finish the Afghan…..Lets get it going!

Another scarf!? Why YES!

So as my title says another scarf is on the way.  I still havent been able to take pictures of my crocheted work without my camera making it look all fuzzy wuzzy was a bear.  That is where I’m at, thinking about songs instead of solutions.  My life as is it day-to-day  

Here is a little Christmas update. 

I had to work, it was more boring than busy. Thankfully my boss came in a little early, so I wasnt trapped in a hotel, completely alone.  After that fun-filled 8hrs, Chris picked me up and we were on to my mom’s house.  He said his family loved the gifts we got them Yes! Cheesin’!  We got to my mom’s a little late, and they already had dinner. Which they ate around 1pm so it was more of a lunch.  Chris and I reheated and enjoyed. My mom makes awesome food.  She won’t teach me.  I think she finds it funny to hold knowledge away from her daughter.  I swear I catch her giggling after she tells me I need to figure it out for myself. 

My Fam also loved their gifts!  I finally gave my sister the scarf I’ve been writing about, and she loved it.  It makes me feel really good to make them things they enjoy. I couldn’t figure out what to make my brother, so his gift was cold hard cash.  I don’t really know how cold or hard it was but it was definitely cash.  I wrote him a nice heartfelt note on the card w/ the cash in it. He probably tossed it, or threw it some random fire. lol

Back to the scarf I’m posting about, sheesh I really digress. Maybe I have add thoughts? I can’t handle thinking about one thing alone. I have to bounce around to cover as much as I can think to cover.   

Yeah right, back to that scarf again…..opps.  My dear little sis gave me a bunch of yarn for christmas(love you), they’re all different colors, but there were three that had the same color scheme, so they became my current material for a scarf.  Was that a run on sentence? IDK.  Anyways, I used all three yarns at the same time. I’m double crocheting the whole thing, and its coming out great. I really love this one.  Two of the yarns are a light but grey blue color, and the other is this amazing blue, green, and yellow variation.  Crocheting them at the same time has a really great effect, and  every so often green and yellow enter into it like highlights.  I can’t wait until its finished.   She gave me some bright pink, I might mix it in with black.  I’d love to do a hat. Ouuu I think I love that

Dishtowel! Yay!

Quick Post! I’ve come up with a few Christmas gifts to…well gift!  I’ve finally got my sisters scarf done! & I need to post photos because I’m so proud of it! 

I picked up some cotton yarn yesterday & started to crochet  dish towels.  I’ve got one done & it looks great! I started a hat & it looks like a hat. Happy Happy Joy Joy. 

I have to figure out how to take photos of clothing.  I didn’t think it would be so hard to capture the look of something, but it is.  Most of the photos I take are washed out, or blurry.  Maybe I need to take them in the sunlight & not indoors with a flash. I don’t know, I’ll experiment this weekend. 

I hope the peeps getting the dish towels appreciate them as a gift.  I’m trying to picture recieving dish towels as a present &  I think I’d like it.  I hope they go over well & it isn’t one of those awkward presents that send the wrong message. 

Back to my sister’s scarf. It is just so her!  I think I have time to make a matching hat.  I’d work on more presents, but I’ve left all my supplies in Chris’ truck. 

Sunday is my cousin’s graduation party! I can’t belive he is 22!

Red & Black Scarf

I’m planning on making the family presents for  holidays.  Most of them are getting scarves, but there are a few difficult members who don’t wear scarves…. I’m not sure I’ll have enough time to make them afghans….so I’m scouring The Internets for some creative (& easy) alternatives. 

This happens to be the Christmas before my sister leaves for her own journey…lol She’s easy though…ha! She wears scarves & I’m almost finished with hers…now my brother…what do I make him?….I have to get really creative with him..He’s 15 and moody. 

I’m not to great at making hats yet…..They don’t fit or look right…..They’re just little misfit hats!

The Basketweave

I’m almost finished with my Basketweave Scarf. It’s nice and hunky like i like it.  The lions brand suede is so wonderful. I found the pattern here on WordPress, but the yarn the poster was using wasn’t as bulky as the suede so the looks are a little different. I tried mixing in some dark brown but it wasn’t looking good in the overall. I can’t wait to try this pattern with other yarns…..I may have found a few christmas presents with this…. yay!

I dont think my crocheting will ever be the same since learning the fpdc and the bpdc! I love those two stitches!!!!!!!!

The Cozy

Friday I made an attempt at crocheting a circle. It didnt work out to well, so I decided to move on to a cozy . I t doesn’t fit anything, but I love it. its my first one. Next time I’m going to make one that fits something! Yeah!
